About People For Animals
Thiruvananthapuram

People for Animals (PFA), Thiruvananthapuram is a charitable organization that champions the cause of animals. We uphold animal welfare and prevent exploitation, mutilation, abuse, and abandoning of animals. We are the local chapter of People for Animals: India's largest animal welfare organization with a nationwide network of 165 units, 26 hospitals and around two lakh, fifty thousand members. Mrs. Maneka Gandhi is our chairperson. From its inception in 1994, PFA has transformed animal welfare into an assertive and effective movement across the country. The initiatives of Smt. Leela Latheef along with a like-minded group of animal lovers led to the PFA, Thiruvananthapuram Chapter (Reg no.158/99) on 10th July 1996. PFA registered as a Charitable Trust Organization, in 1999. Presently, we are a well established organization with rescue facilities, animal shelter, animal hospital and a network of volunteers. We strive for the welfare of animals in and around Thiruvananthapuram city.
